Dave bonds with a vendor exec over a shared love/hate of a certain Mancunian singer
I was talking to a vendor exec when, as executives' mobiles are wont to do, his phone went off during our powwow.
As someone who was in the prime of life (give or take a decade) during the heady early days of Britpop, I was initially impressed by his choice of Live Forever as his ringtone. We'd met in London's West End and my pal revealed he'd just made a pilgrimage to Liam Gallagher's Pretty Green boutique on swinging Carnaby Street. I couldn't help but notice he wasn't clad in an overpriced polo and a parka.
"Well, I was gonna buy something," explained the vendor man. "But he's just such a flipping twit, isn't he?" (Or words to that effect.)
