Security vendor says firms need more security. WHOA!!!!!!

I was thoroughly scandalised to read recently that two thirds of IT staff and c-level executives would pinch confidential information from their employer if they left the firm.

According to numbers from Cyber-Ark Software, EMEA employees have somewhat fewer scruples than their US counterparts, with just 26 per cent claiming they would not swipe sensitive data, compared with 40 per cent Stateside.

Cyber-Ark, the self-styled market leader when it comes to "protecting and managing critical applications, identities and sensitive information", claimed firms must take steps to protect and manage their critical applications, identities and sensitive information.

Adam Bosnian, the vendor's executive vice president of Americas and corporate development somehow kept a straight face while he said: "Today's statistics are a firm reminder of the internal and the external threats that persist through each and every organisation."

Come to think of it, our Gord is perpetually threatening to walk away with his top customer contacts. Can't say I'm massively concerned, mind. In fact, if anyone out there fancies getting their hands on the deets for east London's third-, fourth- and seventh-largest carpet warehouses, feel free to drop me a line.
