Aren't top hats pricey?!!
Apprentice fever is a little late to my household this time round
OK so the picture is of a magician's top hat - but a little imagination please!
Watching the Apprentice last night (#theapprentice) I was momentarily distracted from the lack of braincells among the contestants when I heard the price of a top hat nowadays.
£350 and above?
Crikey!
Last night was typically entertaining TV with the hapless contestants sent out to source some items ready for The Savoy's grand opening - these included a cloche (not of the gardening variety but of the catering variety), some fillet steak, ice, a brass plaque, tea, some lightbulbs, toilet paper and the infamous top hat.
One team decided to go to the most expensive addresses in London for their items and then threw their toys out the pram because they would not negotiate on price. Dur, really?
One muppet even phoned a rival hotel and calmly asked their procurement department to share their list of suppliers! Oh dear me.
Normally with this programme I have picked a handful of people that I think will make it all the way. So far the only one I'm impressed with has been Jim the Irish guy - and that is mainly because the programme has been blatently forcing everyone to be impressed with his sales patter.
The girls are very disappointing indeed and not one of them is standing out to me like Stella and Liz did in the last series.
I think greaseball Vincent is trying to be the Stuart Baggs of the group - but is failing miserably. What a patronising git he is and if he had tried to take the phone off me in the middle of a conversation he might have a slightly higher-pitched voice by now.
I amd definitely finding it more difficult to get engrossed in this series - but it is still early days and I will be there every Wednesday night glued to the screen.
Maybe next week I will be able to make my predictions on the winner.
Anyone else got any thoughts?
