Daisy goes a bit lunar tunes

Exciting comms firm compares itself to Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and the other chap. For some reason.

I dunno about you, but there's always been a strong three-way link in my mind between lunar exploration, the wholesale provision of telecoms services, and complete and utter tosh.

So imagine my thorough delight, dear reader, to discover that I am seemingly not the only one to appreciate the connection between this trio of truly wonderful things. None other than Daisy Wholesale (deffo my favourite comms wholesaler named after a flower) has chosen to celebrate the 42nd (nice round number) anniversary of the moon landings by.....(wait for it.....) launching its new customer service plan! WHOOOOAAAA!!!!!!

When compared with the landmark of human achievement that was Apollo 11, the Daisy customer service doc is, the company admits, "a launch of a different kind". But it is "nevertheless a significant milestone" for the firm. Apparently.

"Forty two years ago it was one giant leap for mankind, but, today, Daisy Wholesale makes its own history!," adds the marketing bumpf. Righty-ho.

The totally awesome plan covers everything from "order management to account and billing services" (in one document?! I never thought I'd see the day!).

Anyway, watching a rival channel player link themselves to an historic event in a facile and arbitrary way has got me thinking. It's the 22nd anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in less than four months' time. Perhaps then would be the perfect time to launch my annual Price Demolition promotion?
