Breaking away to Vegas

I'm in my favourite place (after home of course) for the CompTIA Breakaway event

This is the first time I have been to this event and I have heard some amazing things so I'm looking forward to getting stuck in.

From what I've gathered, the event is a humongous get together for vendors looking to break into new markets, and the event acts as a kind of hub, offering advice, setting up meetings and guidance on the best way to achieve their goals.

There are literally hundreds of companies participating in this event.

We know there are always plenty of vendors looking for a slice of the UK market - so I'm intrigued to know who is waiting in the wings.

It has been a couple of years since I last went to Vegas and as ever it has changed so much - I cannot believe the place keeps on growing.

We are staying at the Aria hotel, which was a building site the last time I came.

It is the first hotel room I have walked in where the curtains start closing automatically and music starts playing when you cross a certain threshhold. It has taken me a couple of days, but I have finally figured out how the lights all work.

Good job I'm not a technology journalist.

Over the next couple of days I'll hopefully be bringing you some useful news on new vendors keen to connect with the UK channel. And all the latest market news and advice from CompTIA. Stay tuned to channelweb for all the gossip.
