This is the last Meerkat-related post I promise.
But I couldn't go without saying today my home town of Market Harborough has been officially twinned today with Meerkovo - home of Aleksandr the Meerkat.
Well done to everyone that joined the campaign.
However I must mention the uttery misery of the Highways Agency/council who only let the sign stay up for half an hour - thus depriving the celebrating citizens their hour of glory.
Talk about party poopers. I'm sure if some money was involved for their coffers, rather than for the sheer pleasure of hard-working citizens, they would have made more of an effort. SHAME on you.
And why on earth was it done on a Thursday and not a weekend where more of us could have enjoyed it? Grrrr! I hope there will be more made of this somewhere along the line to make up for the spoilsports among us.
But that aside - I am proud to say that I live in Meerkat Harborough.
