Norwood Adam will distribute Siemens Communications' phone systems after signing a deal with the German vendor.
The distributor will focus on selling IP telephony products to data resellers, Siemens said.
"We have a very strong existing voice distribution business through Rocom, East Central, MTV and Nimans. We have been looking for a data distribution partner that doesn't overlap with our existing partners," said Neil Moulton, general manager of reseller channels at Siemens.
Discussions between the firms were "a long way down the road" when Matrix bought Norwood, he added.
"Siemens is not being onerous about its expectations," said Manny Pinon, sales and marketing director at Norwood. "It wants to build the market, not go for a land grab."
