Pan-European integrator SCC will provide Windows-enabled Sun Fire x64 Servers, to reduce costs and increase flexibility for its end-users.
SCC will also use virtualisation technology from vendor VMWare to enable multiple operating systems to run on the Sun Fire x64 Server.
Nick Harper, manager at SCC, said: “Today’s customers are facing tough operational business challenges as they try to keep up with their ever increasing computing needs.
“Sun Fire x64 Servers offer businesses a viable solution to run all applications on a single unified platform. Bringing Microsoft into the equation is even more exciting as so many of our customers have never been able to enjoy the benefits of such a powerful mix,” he added.
But Eric Murphy, Sun business manager at distributor Interface Solutions, said: “We have been offering Windows on the Sun Fire x64 Server since November 2004.”
