Mobility vendor Symbol Technologies has launched its first EMEA Solution Centre to allow its partners to test and validate third-party applications with Symbol products.
The centre supports Symbol’s Solutions Validation Programme, which aims to reduce development and test-costs for channel partners. The centre also allows VARs to give customers fully tested solutions that are ready to use with Symbol’s portfolio.
The centre will open later this month at Symbol’s EMEA headquarters in Berkshire and will be available to the vendor’s partners and customers across EMEA.
Richard Roberts, EMEA channels director at Symbol, told CRN that the biggest challenge many of the vendor’s customers and partners face is making their applications mobile.
“This solution centre means that partners don’t need to make such a high level of investment,” he said. “They will have access to our engineers and be able to use our skill set.”
Roberts added that some VARs will use the centre on their own, but most will use it to build relationships with ISVs, because they can come into the solutions centre as a team.
“This is the kind of investment which we will carry on with,” he said. “It makes sense to have other solution centres in EMEA. However, in the meantime we will see how much reach the UK centre has.”
Larry Klimczyk, managing director of Premium Symbol ISV partner Blackbay, said: “The Symbol Solution Centre provides customers and partners with confidence that the applications and solutions we develop are tested, optimised and validated with Symbol products.”
Klimczyk added that it is also a huge benefit to not have to pay a large fee for testing equipment.
