Informix has set up a European market development team in an attempt to turn round its recent disastrous financials.
As part of the move, Informix has handed more power to its country managers to introduce greater local accountability.
The ailing database supplier has also appointed Alan Kerr, former UK sales director, as MD of its UK subsidiary. Kerr, like his predecessor Mike Harrison, will retain responsibility for sales while he assesses whether to hire someone to take over the role.
Barbara Stanley, marketing director for Northern Europe at Informix, said: ?We began reassessing the business last quarter and this is part of the process. These are the first signs of us addressing the issues facing us and we?re reaching the final phases now. The aim is to prevent a repeat of what happened over the last couple of months.?
Stanley added that she would be heading the new European marketing group, but was currently evaluating whether she also needed someone to take over her current role.
