Southampton reseller 2GL has set up a dedicated Internet/ intranet division due to increasing sales of the technology.
Simon Derrick, MD of the u8 million reseller, said: ' There is a lot of hype about the Internet, but not a lot of revenue. We made sure that we were getting the revenue before we set up the division.'
2GL has built a firm customer base among medium-sized corporates in its South Coast stronghold. But its Internet strength has opened the doors to much bigger accounts than the regional reseller had previously been accustomed to, according to Derrick. 'We are already involved in some major projects,' he said.
'I am immensely excited about the Internet/intranet. We are living through a paradigm, which may sound like a trite phrase, but is no less true.
The Internet is a phenomenal opportunity - it will change the way we all live.'
2GL owns a healthcare company, which it claims is the world's biggest incontinence software supplier.
