VAR Esteem Systems has been awarded the Wyse UK Partner of the Year 2002 accolade by vendor Wyse Technology for its contribution to the company's success in the thin-client arena.
Esteem, a Wyse Platinum partner, has worked with the thin-client management vendor for five years and achieved $1.6m in product sales over the past year.
"Esteem won the award because it made the highest volume of sales in the UK," said Stephen Yeo, director of marketing EMEA at Wyse, which operates a 100 per cent channel strategy in Europe.
Yeo said Esteem, which is also a reseller of Citrix's Metaframe thin-client software, is skilled at putting together large and complex server-based computing systems.
Alistair Kitching, server-based computing director at Esteem Systems, said the Wyse technology is a good complement to the company's Citrix business.
"The products are an ideal value-add for our server-based computing offering," he said.
The vendor said its thin-client products are most in demand from the call centre, transportation and health care industries, as well as local government.
"The (thin-client) market is exploding at the moment, and last year we increased our UK sales threefold," Yeo said.
