Hybrid reseller and distributor Avanquest has launched a sales web site designed for VARs and end-users to help ramp up sales.
Avanquest already operates a number of sales web sites for the other arms of its business, but told CRN that the new site aims to give the company’s software portfolio a global presence.
Chris Thompson, managing director of Avanquest, said: “This is the first time we have launched a single global web site. I expect revenue from this area to contribute 10 per cent of total group turnover by 2006.”
Rachel Power, an analyst at Canalys, said that Avanquest is one of the few channel players that has taken this approach.
“It will help smaller VARs to generate revenue, but Avanquest may have to do a lot of branding to help them achieve this. It will also give both Avanquest and other VARs access to new markets,” she said.
