BT's profit leaped by 14 per cent to nearly £4.3 billion and turnover climbed by 13.6 per cent to £18.23 billion for the year ended 31 March. For the final quarter, profit was £836 million on turnover of nearly £4.9 billion. The growth in the internet and mobile communications were noted as key factors in pushing BT's profit, which equate to £8,100 a minute.
