Last week saw the arrival of Intersystems' The Deliverer. Not a gun-toting crusader to save us from our evil ways, but, rather disappointingly, a handheld touch PC created for distribution applications.
Aimed at the petrochemical delivery industry, The Deliverer is the first transaction processing application using mobile data communications over the GSM digital network.
It provides a remote business computing system into the cabs of tankers and trucks, linked to their distribution fleet by the control software.
According to Intersystems' distributor CDS the product has great potential for any distribution business where flexibility in vehicle utilisation is essential.
