Avanquest ProcessFlows has signed up to distribute enterprise-focused 3D CAD application ShapeSpace.
Chris Thompson, managing director at ProcessFlows, said the data search and document management engine targeted engineering companies and would be offered to a select group of resellers.
“It represents a fantastic opportunity for a select group of our channel partners to offer a step-change in 3D storage and retrieval to their customers,” Thompson said.
The software allows users to search for components or designs by their shape, without knowing a part’s name or serial number.
Andrew Sherlock, founder and chief executive at ShapeSpace, said engineering companies, such as motor and aerospace manufacturers, invest heavily in product design and related information systems.
“Typically these systems provide only basic search and retrieval tools, so opportunities are regularly missed to reuse designs or to rationalise existing parts libraries,” he said.
