Start-up videoconferencing (VC) vendor VQ Communications has secured funding from South West Ventures Fund that will allow it to push forward and grow.
In April, VQ told CRN that it wanted 10,000 users for its hosted video, voice and data product over the next two years (CRN, 17 April).
Ashley Martin, sales director at VQ, told CRN: “The funding has given us the stability to launch the product. Things have been moving quicker than we anticipated. If we continue to grow at the scale we are, we will need to secure more funding.”
Martin said VQ has six VC resellers on board, and is in the process of signing six voice over IP VARs. It is also looking to recruit some network service providers.
Sam McMaster, managing director of VC VAR Questmark, said: “We signed up with VQ in February and have had lots of success already. VQ’s product will really help the VC industry to grow.”
