Team Basilica is gearing up for the third leg of the iShares Cup, fresh from its victory in the Marseille leg of the event earlier this month (CRN, 16 July).
The 40ft catamaran is sponsored and supported by VAR Basilica and is helmed by Volvo Ocean Race winner Robert Greenhalgh, along with his crew of Peter Greenhalgh, James Grant and Justin Slattery – collectively known as the Brit Pack.
The third round of the iShares Cup will kick-off this year’s Skandia Cowes Week, which runs from 3-5 August.
Greenhalgh said: ““Team Basilica has performed very well in the first two iShares Cup regattas but we will not be complacent going into Cowes. Our objective has always been to win each leg and the overall series – until we do this we will not be happy. The Solent is of course well-trodden water for all of us – we are determined to continue our progress in this series and win in front of our home crowd as we did in Portsmouth last year.”
