Olivetti has succeeded in its leveraged bid for Telecom Italia after a three-month fight. Olivetti now has a 51 per cent stake in the Italian telco, worth £40 billion, which should pave the way for a complete takeover following the apparent failure of a bid from Deutsche Telekom.
