EquIP has partnered with Advanced Switching Communications to bring its internet performance and optimising technology products to the channel.
Ian Morris, founder of equIP, said there was previously no provision for resellers to trade in this advanced product range. "There are a few companies worldwide manufacturing this equipment and we are addressing this gap as the only distributor in the UK," he said.
The technology allows next-generation carriers and service providers to deliver broadband technology using existing networks. "The technology will significantly reduce the cost of the infrastructure backbones in networks," said Morris.
It will appeal to carriers and service providing companies, he added, because existing infrastructure variables can be used to address the demand for broadband services.
Resellers will have the opportunity to tap into the advanced technology sector and start trading with the ever-increasing number of service providers that require equipment and advice on their networks, he said. New products will be added to a reseller's business as a result of the partnership.
"We are giving resellers another product and the opportunity to add application service providers, telcos and internet service providers as customers," said Morris.
Convergence distributor equIP was co-founded by Neil Ledger, former managing director of Datrontech, in response to the new business opportunities offered by the convergence market.
