PCMCIA and PC card systems distributor DIP Systems has introduced a range of CD-Rom drives which will enable notebook users to easily add multimedia and speed up software loading.
The drives are powered directly through the PC and require no batteries or external supply. A Type 1 slim PCMCIA card fits any PC card slot. The driver software caters for all applications.
Available in two, four and six-speed versions, the drives are compatible with MSCDEX, Windows and Windows 95. Each drive meets MPC standards for multimedia use.
The four-speed drive is faster than the two-speed drive, with a data access time of 235ms and transfer rates of 600Kb per second. The six-speed version has transfer rates of 900Kb per second for those needing to load large files.
DIP also handles expansion memory, fax/modems, networking and communication products.
