SCC looked set to benefit from its membership of Allied Computer Services Limited (ACSL) last week as Compaq appointed the consortium as an accredited international systems reseller (ISR).
Only two other companies hold the accreditation to sell products and services across country boundaries; ICT and Info products. The deal will mean SCC has the responsibility for implementing pan-European and global ACSL contracts within the UK.
Simon Sjenitzer, international sales and marketing manager at SCC, said: 'We've been selling products and services across Europe for many years. In 1990, we finalised our arrangement with ACSL.' The growing trend towards globalisation meant that SCC was not only moving into European markets but also had a presence in the US. The company has a relationship in the US with Intelligent Electronics (IE).
Peter Rigby, who is chairman of ACSL as well as the SCH Group, said that he was delighted about Compaq's appointment. 'This is a tribute to the successful relationship between all of the ACSL partners,' he said. 'It provides a central management solution for international corporate customers.' The company has offices in 14 countries including the USA and the UK.
