John Lindley, business development director at IBM VAR Portal Partnership, is leaving at the end of the month to set up his own gardening business.
Lindley has spent the past 20 years in the Lotus and IBM business partner community, first at Altis and latterly at Portal Partnership.
In a statement, Lindley said: “I’ve decided to turn a long-term hobby/sideline into a proper business, and I’m setting up a garden design and maintenance business with my son.
"It’s quite refreshing to be thinking about buying a truck instead of contemplating margins in the reseller channel, and wielding a chainsaw is a lot more fun than writing a marketing campaign report.”
A replacement business development director has not yet been announced.
