Australian accounting and payroll software vendor MYOB has launched a three-tier programme for its UK partners to gain more market share.
The firm, which specialises in accounting and payroll software for SMEs, is offering discounts, pre-sales and technical support, demo versions of software and partner-only product lines. Benefits depend on a VAR's level of accreditation.
Trefor Walcroft, business development manager at MYOB, said resellers can choose from three levels. The first, a dealer starter kit, offers a 25 per cent software discount.
The second tier, Authorised Reseller, corresponds to a 30 per cent discount, while Premier Resellers qualify for a 35 per cent reduction.
Partners can also become Certified Consultants, which work even more closely with the vendor. "We want to increase our penetration into the business accounting space, and we hope VARs will help us do that," Walcroft said.
Bill Wells, managing director of reseller HyperInformation, said: "MYOB's advantage is that it fits a particular part of the marketplace where other accounting packages are unsuitable. It is designed for managers of SMEs, as opposed to accountants or bookkeepers, and this is a largely untapped market."
