Distribution giant Avnet Technology Solutions has revamped its marketing team to extend the support levels available to its reseller base.
The team has been divided into two divisions – a Campaign Team of four people and a Communications Team of three people.
The Campaign Team, headed up by marketing manager Angela Nightingale, will work with resellers to generate sales opportunities across all vendors represented by Avnet. The Communications Team, headed by marketing communications manager Lawrence Roberts will help VARs take advantage of the programmes and resources on offer to them, through events and education programmes.
Linda Patterson, marketing director at Avnet Technology Solutions, said: "By taking a collaborative approach Avnet enables channel partners to use its knowledge and experience to improve efficiencies, gain competitive advantage and identify profitable business opportunities. The expanded marketing team will play a major part in making this happen in a very practical way.
“An important goal for the marketing team is knowledge transfer. For example we have already run a series of marketing workshops on different marketing disciplines such as direct marketing, telemarketing, positioning and value propositions. All these events were well attended and we intend to continue to provide this type of practical advice and training on a regular basis,” she said.
“Lawrence and his team will work with the different Avnet business units to ensure that both Avnet and vendor information is communicated to business partners in a targeted way through a combination of email, newsletters and events. Our overall objective with both teams is to support the growth of our partners, our vendors and Avnet through good marketing practices.”
