Kyocera has launched enhanced additions to its range of 600dpi printers, while lowering prices on existing models.
The Ecosys Plus printers, FS-1600+ and FS-3600+, will cost up to 20 per cent less than previous models. The price of the 1600 model will be reduced from u1,469 to u1,299 and the 3600 machine will drop from u2,369 to u1,899.
Some of the new features include an open systems management information base which provides a forms overlay facility for printing company stationery as needed. The manufacturer claims this will aid a more efficient form of network management.
In a further effort to cut the costs of networking Ecosys printers, Kyocera has slashed prices on its HB4-SNMP multiprotocol network interface cards by between eight per cent and 20 per cent.
Kyocera product manager Tracey Rawling-Church said: 'The company is reducing the total cost of printer ownership by looking at ways to improve printing efficiency. This philosophy will be continued with all future Ecosys upgrades.'
