Businesses in Reading are up in arms at having to change their phone numbers for the second time in 18 months. From April 1, the Reading phone code will change to 0118 and the old phone number will be prefixed with the number 9. A representative of the Reading Chamber of Commerce said that businesses were none too pleased. 'They will have to change their letterheads again,' she said. Old numbers will still remain valid until January 1998.
