Anti-virus vendor Trend Micro claims the upcoming launch of its new secure web site certification will help drive up web traffic for its partners.
The badge, which is set to debut in September, is designed to demonstrate that its partners are safe to do business with online. It follows on from last weeks launch of Trend’s Worry-Free Business Security 5.0 package for SMEs.
Anthony O’Mara, EMEA vice-president for sales at Trend, said the initiative is still in beta testing phase.
“Our research has shown that a secure web certification can lead to a 20 per cent increase in traffic through the site. This is an enhancement to our channel to sell the product more easily and make additional margin,” O’Mara added.
Matthew Stokes, product manager at distributor Blue Solutions, which Trend appointed last year to increase its SME reseller base, said: “Trend has edged its way into the SME market and version 5.0 is something new with which we can approach resellers.”
