OST, the Ethernet switch vendor, is focusing efforts on the Fast Ethernet sector and has backed this with the launch of its Advantage partner programme. The scheme offers resellers incentives like higher margins, joint marketing and technical training to persuade them to take its high-end Xcellys Fast Ethernet switch. The vendor claims that it already has 10 Vars on board, and is looking for another 15 or so in the South West and North East of England.
OST's channel business manager Andy Jolliffe says that OST is looking for resellers with the infrastructure to support a highly technical sale.
He believes that the right candidates will find a great deal of value add potential in Xcellys, from things like cabling and maintenance. He stressed that Xcellys was a high end backbone switch product, with solutions worth upwards of u25,000 each. He believes that Fast Ethernet is a market waiting to hit the big time.
