Audiovisual distributor Maverick starts operations in Belgium and the Netherlands over the next few weeks, adding to its European expansion into Spain and Portugal last year.
According to Maverick, the move – which means it has a presence in five countries including the UK – paves the way to even more growth before the end of 2010.
“Maverick has a well-established business in the UK,” the company said in a statement.
“With a tried and tested business model, excellent vendor relationships and specialist and experienced personnel in place in all countries, Maverick is ideally placed to become the leading distributor of audiovisual solutions in Europe.”
Fuelled by investment via parent company Tech Data, Maverick has access to logistical and financial resources for expansion both in the UK and at a European level, the company said.
“Headed up by Evy Remory, the [Netherlands and Belgium] business unit will build on the strong presence that Tech Data has already established in the Benelux audiovisual market through its existing specialist AV team and the Hotlamps business,” the company said.
Maverick’s lamp distribution arm, Hotlamps, has already launched in 14 countries.
