Distributor Bell Micro has handed the reins of its security division to networking divisional manager Ed Callacher.
Current security head Steve Browell is leaving the distributor at the end of May and Callacher began a two-month handover period on 1 April.
Callacher said the division currently has 14 staff, but that he had been given the nod to add headcount “where it is needed”.
“Bell has a strong security portfolio and is a lot larger than people believe,” he said.
“The key for me is to understand from our vendors, resellers and internal stakeholders what their requirements are.”
Callacher’s initial brief is to understand the security arm, but he added that he would look to attach sales of solutions in other business units, including networking.
