Morse has become Veritas Software's first UK technical services partner (TSP).
The authorisation will see the reseller provide Veritas storage software products, which include Net Back Up and Volume Manager, as well as post-sales support.
Morse has sold the vendor's software since 1994, but this move allows the VAR to provide services on top of products.
"Service partners will get a better margin from us for doing this, and it allows them to renew customers," said Andy Lockhart, senior director for international partnership management at Veritas UK.
Morse has undertaken staff training and has also provided a support centre to track customer calls. It will now offer its Veritas customers technical support.
Mark Nutt, technology sales director at Morse, said: "Our appointment as the first UK Veritas TSP builds on our relationship with Veritas and will enhance our end-to-end solutions capability."
Lockhart said that Veritas wants to sign a maximum of four TSPs in the UK in the next six to eight months.
"Resellers such as Morse and Computacenter are the type of resellers we want to become TSPs," he said.
