Former Dataflex Design sales and marketing director Phil Benge has joined virus and security software company Reflex Magnetics as marketing director and will lead the vendor's move into the third-party channel.
Reflex has always sold direct, but Benge described the brand as a well-kept secret. 'It's time for the company to go for growth by raising its own profile in and taking its products to the indirect channel,' he said.
Benge, whose history in the channel began 12 years ago when he set up IBM PC reseller Dataflex Ltd before establishing modem manufacturer Dataflex Design two years later. Last March Dataflex Design was sold to Amstrad after it ran into financial difficulties. Benge resigned from the company last October.
Benge said he did not make a reflex decision about the Reflex job and said he had received a number of job offers during his four months gardening leave. 'It is a marketing man's dream,' he said.
