Speech recognition software company SRC has secured a £5m investment to expand its range of enterprise targeted software.
Investment companies Cazenove and 3i have agreed to provide funding to help the company develop a new suite of its voice recognition software.
SRC, which was set up in 1995, supplies software which combines speech technology with clients' existing systems and processes to the corporate marketplace, and offers a range of professional services including consultancy, systems integration and post-sales support.
According to SRC, the investment will enable the company to "offer a complete portfolio of speech telephony solutions in addition to its current portfolio of speech dictation, digital dictation and data-entry and capture solutions".
Managing director Chris Hart said: "Speech recognition technology has advanced and matured significantly in recent years. However, the challenge is still in delivering solutions that achieve a high level of end user satisfaction."
Hart claimed that more customers are demanding telephony speech recognition solutions, adding that such technologies can improve customer service, call centre efficiency and transaction processing.
