VAR Softcat has appointed a new managing director.
Martin Hellawell will replace Peter Kelly who has held the reins since the company was founded in 1993. Kelly will change roles to become executive chairman of Softcat.
Hellawell previously worked at Computacenter, holding positions including managing director of Computacenter France, general manager of corporate development and, seperately, chairman of the international reseller consortium ICG.
“Martin has tremendous experience and expertise that he will bring to Softcat, but more importantly there was a great fit between him and the team,” said Kelly.
“Softcat has enormous potential and I am relishing this opportunity,” added Hellawell.
Terry O’Loughlin, UK channel sales director at Computer Associates said: “I am keen to meet with Martin and discuss how we can move our relationship forward.”
