Systems integrator Text Systems gained a new managing director and some additional financing last Monday.
When staff arrived at the company's offices in the City and Manchester, they were told that John Anderson, former chief executive at Misys Computer Services, has stepped into the shoes of founding managing director John Podbury.
Podbury will continue at Text Systems as a director of the u13 million company which specialises in FM, software development, consultancy and disaster recovery.
Anderson's background in the industry includes Bull and P&P as well as a brief spell at Misys.
Anderson suggested more money would arrive to help Text grow. 'The company has now reached a stage whereby outside investors have identified the market potential from the Group and have decided to invest. This will bring many advantages and opportunities that will enable Text to continue growing.'
He said that his role at the company will be to grow the business in a structured way.
The extra finances to achieve this will come from institutional investors rather than the City of London, said Anderson. 'It is still very much business as usual.'
