Security vendor AVG UK recently held its first reseller day at Silverstone race circuit in Northamptonshire to thank partners for their role in its successful first quarter 2007.
The vendor, which is the official business partner of AVG Internet Security software manufacturer Grisoft, saw Q1 sales increase 219 per cent, which it attributed to the launch of AVG 7.5 Internet Security last year.
Joseph Benning, operations manager at AVG, said: “The channel is doing very well for us at the moment and we are always looking to expand our partner numbers. Take-up of our products has also been exceptional.”
He said the firm had seen its UK channel base grow 60 per cent in Q1.
Darren Towart, sales account manager at VAR Sumlock Electronics, said: “Originally we were a Sophos partner, but when Sophos updated its product set our customers suffered problems and some started asking about alternatives, which is when we discovered AVG.
“AVG’s pricing structure is very competitive and it always deals with partner concerns quickly.”
