McAfee has signed systems integrator Vistorm as its first SecurityAlliance Elite partner eligible to carry its entire product range, following creation of its channel programme last year.
Vistorm will initially focus on the vendor’s risk management software and will operate in specific verticals.
“We will offer a managed service to the end-user. Security is on every business’s list, but we will focus primarily on financial verticals and the public sector,” said Nicola Quincy, business manager at Vistorm.
The Elite status will enable Vistorm to offer technical support staff to enterprise end-users, and to receive support from McAfee on sales, marketing, branding and training.
Wayne Carter, EMEA channel director at McAfee, said the appointment of Vistorm will add a new level to the programme: “Our channel focus has altered to encompass partners who can offer enterprise customers high-level advisory and support services. Vistorm will set a high benchmark in the Elite level,” he said.
“We will announce more partners to the Elite level soon. But there’s no golden number we would like to grow to because we want to maintain its exclusivity.”
Earlier this month McAfee also added a web portal, dubbed MAX, to its SecurityAlliance programme to allow partners to communicate directly with McAfee channel and sales account teams.
Under the programme, McAfee has also set its distribution partners a 90-day time frame, due to end in September, to get reaccredited.
