Martin Hellawell, head of marketing at Computacenter, was promoted to general manager last month. He will seek opportunities for Computacenter in Europe and will have a cross-divisional role in the UK.
Mike Norris, CEO at the reseller, refused to comment on whether Computacenter was looking to buy European subsidiaries. 'We have general managers who run individual divisions such as support and services, but more and more we need these offerings to be packaged together.
'We also have an international business to focus on in France and other European countries,' he said.
Hellawell said: 'I will be looking at how Computacenter approaches new markets.'
He added: 'I will be working alongside Mike Norris, who confirmed that there would be some jet-setting involved.'
The company is recruiting a replacement for Hellawell.
