Microsoft has announced a set of Java application foundation classes (AFCs) which it claims give developers ?richer graphics, user interface and multimedia functionality that can run on any platform or any browser that supports Java?.
The AFC user interface libraries ? providing such things as tree views and toolbars ? are said to give far more control and flexibility than Javasoft?s basic AWT library.
