Unified threat management vendor Fortinet has appointed Luca Simonelli to oversee its sales operations within the EMEA region.
In his role as EMEA vice president for sales, Simonelli will be responsible for accelerating adoption of the vendor’s products within the telecommunications, government and finance verticals.
"I am very excited about the challenges I will have to face in managing new European territories, such as the UK, France and Germany,” said Simonelli. “My priority will be to further drive high-end market penetration, with a strong focus on key verticals such as telco, finance and government."
Simonelli joined the firm in 2004 to take the reins of Fortinet’s Italian interests. Over time, his remit has been expanded to include Greece, Turkey, Russia and Romania.
Patrice Perche, senior vice president of international sales and support at Fortinet, said: "Luca has all of the skills, energy and leadership required to manage the EMEA team and help grow our business in the region."
