Edge Publishing is launching a range of language software but is supplying it to the retailer in just a single box.
Each Link Word software pack will contain several language courses and the retailer willl sell the user one course at u29.95 and provide them with a software key code to unlock the relevant tuition programme.
Edge claims it is the first company to use the system of unlock software keys, already widely used in shareware and internet sales, through retail.
It will cut down on inventory and production costs of the range.
The first languages in the range, including French, German, Greek, Italian and Spanish, went on sale on 16 September. A further 20 languages will be made available over the next six months.
Ingram Micro will be demonstrating the range during its roadshow which is running throughout September.
