Former WStore boss Tony Price has popped up again in the channel as commercial director for spare parts distributor Chiltern IT.
Price, who stood down as managing director of WStore last year after it was acquired by Systemax will be tasked with growing Chiltern IT’s business and partnering with new vendors.
Speaking to CRN, Price said: “I was talking to a few people about various roles and I saw the Chiltern position. I really wanted to get back to the coalface to be among customers, and this was definitely the most exciting opportunity for me. It is like working at a more established WStore.”
Price said the firm is a strong company and, while “fairly small” with a £4m turnover, he believes it has a lot of growth potential.
Currently, the main vendor on its books is HP, and it also covers a little Dell product.
“My remit is to change the culture from a reactive one to more of a selling one,” he said. “I am here to grow the sales team and also to add some more key manufacturers to the books and ensure we have the broadest range of stock.”
