Open source database vendor EnterpriseDB is hunting for UK systems integrators (SIs) and consultancies after launching its first channel programme.
The company, which opened its first EMEA office in the UK in January, has claimed its Oracle-compatible database will allow partners to pocket more services revenues because it is 80 per cent cheaper than traditional databases.
David Curle, EMEA partner manager at EnterpriseDB, said: “Enterprises are spending a large percentage of their budget on what is essentially a commodity product. Our database will allow SIs to release a customer’s budget for more strategic projects.”
With EnterpriseDB operating a direct sales force in the UK, Curle stressed the vendor wants partners with integration or managed services skills, rather than classic resellers.
The deal builds on distie's earlier promise to distribute a broader range of electrical goods
