Former BitDefender UK managers Simon Geach and John Hughes have reappeared in the channel, landing roles at Symantec and distributor Securedis, respectively.
Several high-level UK staff left the anti-virus vendor last month as BitDefender restructured its global business.
UK sales director Geach (pictured) left the firm in late December and is understood to have started as head of UK consumer sales at BitDefender rival Symantec this week.
Meanwhile, BitDefender’s former UK technical manager John Hughes has been appointed as technical director at distributor Securedis, where he will helm pre- and post-sales and technical support. He also left BitDefender before the new year.
Securedis director Nick Robinson said: “We are very fortunate to have someone of John’s background and expertise come on board.
“John is a perfect fit for us and he will be key to our plans for leading the technical development of Securedis.”
BitDefender stressed it remains committed to the UK despite centralising some management functions to its native Romania. Since the departure of Geach, Hughes and UK managing director Nick Billington, BitDefender has hired former AVG and Sophos alumni Peter Barlow to run the UK, alongside several other territories in northern Europe.
