Storage distributor Hammer has launched a standalone IT services and training consultancy to help its resellers win more deals.
The new company is called Malleus and will provide Hammer's partners with access to solution design, installation and project management services, as well as sales and technical training.
Hammer's former solutions director Paul Hickingbotham has been given the task of overseeing Malleus's activities in his new role as technical director.
The firm will be staffed by experts in Hammer's existing storage vendor portfolio, as well as those who specialise in other complementary products.
Hickingbotham said the company will offer resellers tailored support to help them take advantage of the growing convergence between storage and networking.
"Hammer aims to be an extension of each customer's business [by] understanding their aims and requirements, and working with them innovatively to achieve these," said Hickingbotham.
"The launch of Malleus allows us to be dedicated to providing professional advice and service excellence, and empowering customers with a competitive advantage."
