VMware has launched an online marketplace for partners to showcase products and services that complement the virtualisation giant's own wares.
The VMware Solutions Exchange is a "one-stop-shop"-style resource where partners can use social media to create interactive listings of the products they sell.
They will also be encouraged to submit white papers, product demos and architecture blueprints to lure customers.
Each listing will include partners' contact details and VMware accreditations. End users will be able to rate the services they receive from VARs that use the site.
Parag Patel, vice president of global strategic alliances at VMware, said the Solutions Exchange should help shorten partner sales cycles.
"For customers, our goal is to empower them to find the resources they need to make purchasing decisions to accelerate their journey to the cloud, while also helping our technology partners deliver and manage joint solutions in a single, self-service location," he added.
