Networking and comms vendor Huawei has snagged another industry bigwig to bolster its UK and European channel push.
The China-based company has confirmed whispers that former ShoreTel executive Tom Perry is joining in the post of marketing director for Enterprise business in western Europe.
Perry (pictured) headed up ShoreTel's EMEA marketing operations for four years.
ChannelWeb understands his last day at the vendor was on Friday.
One ShoreTel partner described the departure of Perry, who temporarily helmed ShoreTel's EMEA operations last year following John Howard's departure, as a "big loss" for the vendor's channel.
"Tom has been the heartbeat of the company for a long time," said the insider.
Huawei is on a big UK channel push, having last year enlisted former HP channel boss Dave Poskett to run its UK and Ireland enterprise channel.
