Avnet has signed up to offer Actifio storage management platforms through its EMEA channel.
According to the distributor, the offering will initially be available to its Benelux resellers, then rolled out to customers across the rest of EMEA.
Klaus Decker, IBM business group director for EMEA at Avnet, said the deal complements its IBM strategy.
"It gives our business partners a greater opportunity to expand their business into key areas of growth such as virtualisation and cloud services," Decker said.
The Actifio Protection and Availability Storage (PAS) platform is marketed as a tool to consolidate backup, disaster recovery and business continuity applications into one copy data management system that works with IBM kit such as Storwize and XIV Gen3.
Data copied once can be used for multiple apps.
"Avnet will work with Actifio to deliver a turnkey virtualised data management solution for mid-market and large enterprise MSPs and resellers to meet growing demands for virtualisation, big data and cloud-based IT infrastructure," the distributor said in a press release.
