Hadoop vendor MapR Technologies has signed a deal with specialist reseller Onepoint IQ to offer its training and technology across EMEA.
Under the terms of the strategic agreement, Onepoint IQ will deliver MapR-approved training courses across Europe with a view to boosting adoption of the Hadoop platform and related database projects.
Christy Kulasingam, co-founder of Onepoint IQ, said the start-up reseller and consultancy has a vendor-agnostic approach to Big Data.
"Our relationship with MapR is part of an ongoing strategy to engage with market leaders across the big data ecosystem to offer a comprehensive approach to organisations," Kulasingam said.
Steve Jenkins (pictured, right), EMEA vice president for MapR, said the agreement formalised its ability to work with customers and partners across the region.
"Our partnership will deliver a comprehensive training programme to help organisations adopt MapR technologies as part of innovative big data projects and address limitations inherent in other distributions of the technology," Jenkins claimed.
Onepoint IQ's MapR training is aimed at technical architects and system administrators. It offers the key skills needed to develop, implement and administer MapR M3, M5 and M7 installations for Apache Hadoop.
The reseller also offers "non-technical" courses aimed at business users.
